The Norton Hill Ride Challenge

Ever since we were inspired by the Tour de Yorkshire and the Tour de France, our Year 6 pupils have risen to the challenge of our very own Tour de Norton. This year was no exception and many a sinew was strained and a breath gasped as the children powered their bicycles up the hill on Langton Road.

Younger year groups came out with banners, cheers and encouragement to welcome the victorious riders home.

The fastest ascent (in 6 minutes 30 seconds) was achieved by Matthew, riding in the second wave. He was only 4 seconds ahead of Ben, who rode in the first one. Both riders were super strong on the steepest sections and had put huge gaps into their rivals on the road.
