Eat Them to Defeat Them

Monday, 5th July 2021

The national campaign has been a great success here at Norton Primary. It really seems to have captured the attention of our children, particularly the younger ones at Grove Street.

They have enjoyed joining in the weekly activities and getting stickers for trying the vegetable of the week. So far we have vanquished tomatoes, sweetcorn, peppers, broccoli and carrots. Next week will give peas no chance!

We have organised a treasure hunt style activity for the Grove Street children- they will have to use their observation skills to find large green peas (milk bottle tops) hidden around the school building. Each bottle top they find will earn them varying amounts of personal points once it has been put into their class pea pod.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Morrisons Supermarket for donating vegetables each week for our displays and for the children to taste. We hope that the children have been as enthusiastic at home as they have at school about trying their vegetables.
