Our last full day of activities saw two more groups set off to canoe and climb, while the others had their half-and-halves. All went on their way fuelled up with another excellent East Barnby cooked breakfast.
After the outdoor day was done, there was a teatime choice of fish and chips, or lasagne with garlic bread. Very tasty, and a good prelude to the evening talent contest and disco.
At the show, we heard wonderful singers: Katelyn and Lyssa (duet), Imogen, Olivia, Emily, Jessica, Bailey, and Kiowa (all solos). There was also a big singing/dance group calling themselves J-10, and a gymnastics routine from Ruby.
Charlie performed a superb solo stand up comedy act which was well matched by the double act from Reece and Aiden. Also providing comedy were the trio of Jake, Ciaran and Connor and a solo from Logan.
Last to mention, but by no means least, was a magic show. It was a first for East Barnby Talent, and we were struggling to believe our eyes as Sam wove his wizardry before us. It takes a whole lot of courage and confidence to go up and entertain your peers. Very well done to each and every one of them.
Can you believe that there have been nearly 2000 photographs taken during the week? You’ve seen a selection in the previous pages. Next term, the children will get to select some of their favourites and design their own souvenir booklet.
Here, instead of more photos, is a video of East Barnby’s sledging slope in action. All the children have used it one evening. This group, who had been canoeing all day were lucky enough to get an extra go.
