Beach games, body boarding, beck scrambling, climbing and canoeing. How much can Year 6 pack into a day? Plenty, when they are at East Barnby.

The worst weather forecast of the week didn’t disappoint, with rain, hail and thunder all putting in a performance. Nevertheless, the weather didn’t dampen the fun. Mainly because the fun was wet fun for most, anyway. In fact, the climbers had the best of the weather and made the most of it to conquer a few peaks.

A choice of curry and rice or pizza and wedges was the reward for a full day of adventure with a crunchy chocolate brownie biscuit and custard to finish.

Our after tea activities got more adventurous too, with groups taking turns at sledging on a dry ski slope and cooperating to navigate a night line. Others played a competitive game of rounders and chilled with a bit of drawing.
