The weather started fine and stayed lovely all day. We breakfasted on beans and bacon, with hash browns on the side. Wednesday was for canoing and sailing, with the groups switching round to take their turn.
For tea we were offered either a hearty beef and dumpling stew or gammon steak. Both were served with Yorkshire pudding, roasties, beans, carrots.
The night line and sledging groups switched over so that everyone could try both. There was keen competition amongst the sledgers to beat the previous night’s “Longest Run” marker, ultimately successful.
We finish off each evening with a supper of hot chocolate and biscuits back in the dinner hall. There are still so many smiling faces even after a full day on the go.
