FS1 Tell Us A Tale

This half term we will be exploring story language and events through three Fairy Tales.

We will be sharing and exploring the story events and characters in ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ and ‘The Enormous Turnip’.

Together we will retell stories using puppets and role play props. The children will go on adventures from sneaking past the sleeping troll in the Billy Goats story to planting their own beanstalk! We hope to begin a journey of imagination and love of reading. Stories are a fantastic way of developing a child’s vocabulary and improving their ability to use sentences with detail and description.

We will also encourage the children to give meaning to their marks as they write and draw.

We will support all children to hold pencils using a tripod grip and we will meet Fred the Frog ready to start Fred Talk like ‘c-a-t’ is ‘cat!’
